Erica Laurell is the creative genius behind the pseudonym Madame Tricot, where knitted dolls are in focus as a creative expression. These dolls are now coming to life as animations in their knitted interiors, all accompanied by the delicate as well as exquisite piano and synth melodies composed exclusively for the animations, by the musician Jacques II.
Erica Laurell a.k.a Madame Tricot
Erica Laurell has a comprehensive CV, ranging from collaborating with designer giants like Angela Missoni to creating hand knit prototypes for Sonia Rykiel. She has also been involved in several other creative projects along with her current position as knitwear expert at H&M and participation in the company’s 3D-development.
To further expand her own creative project with the knitted dolls, Erica studied animation at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design last year.
Erica will also be featured with her work in the October issue of Vogue Scandinavia.
Jacques II
The music composed by Jacques II is created through a filter of synth landscapes. It’s loaded with hooks, melancholia and skewed takes on everyday life.
Prior to his solo debut Jacques II toured around Europe and released several records with his garage rock band Makeouts. The band’s debut album “In a strange land” won the The Swedish Independent Music Prize – Manifest Awards – for best rock 2010 and was also nominated 2013 with the album “Back to sleep”. Jacques II is releasing his new single “Colors” October 5th 2023.
